Recreation at Camp Lodestar
Camp Lodestar is rich in varied ecological environments and steeped in history of the Motherlode county. Towering yellow pine trees, sugar pines, cedars, and other conifers make a great setting for many recreational opportunities. Mountain Misery and a variety of wild flowers carpet the landscape making for a beautiful view come springtime.
One of the many hiking trails crosses the meadow and passes a lava cap adorned with manzanita and chaparrals bush which defends to the Mokelomne River through a dense forest of fir trees and ferns.
