Read MoreThere is a lot more to the little town of Applegate, where the Applegate Jesuit Retreat Center of the Sierra resides, than meets the eye! I’ve been finding joy over these past few months in exploring some of the lesser known parts. Please enjoy some photos I took at a nearby overlook with beautiful views of the American River. Connecting with nature is an important way to cope with the turbulent times so we do it as often as we can.
Another way we have been keeping busy is with small updates to make your next stay even more comfortable. Staff members Jean and Marcy spent the day giving a fresh coat of paint to the “Jack and Jill” bathroom in Redwood Lodge. It will make a huge difference when it’s done!
For me, that means going on more hikes in our local trail network with my spouse Laura, and “Zooming” with family back in Michigan.
